Cave Ghost, 2025, acrylic & cotton yarn, wood, chain, beads, found plastic, 32” x 32” x 9’
A soft, empty shell reminiscent of cave formations allows light to pass through its form. A chain of charms cascades like water from the 'tite' to the ‘mite.' This hollow entity reminds us that plastic, like diamonds, are forever.
Pink Frosted
2024, fabric, foil transfers, chains, beads, found plastic from the Ohio river, 55” x 24”
Stalactites & stalagmites are created by water and minerals oozing through the earth to form drippy cones and mounds in caves. Pierced plastic shards (harvested from the Ohio River) act as water, assembled as charms on a chain. As they flows down the “tite” onto the “mite”, the plastic trash transforms into delicate beads as the chain trajectory carves a vibrant new path through the rock.
Drippy Stag Cake, 2023, fabric, found plastic, metal rings, grommets, ribbon, foil transfers, 46” x 21”
Sparsely scattered are 3D red ribbon loops, akin to impurities in the mineral build-up likely to emerge as a precious gem in a few million years.
